New Year in Arizona

December 29, 2013

Just figuring out how to use blogger, hence the delay with these entries.

Finally a decent snowstorm in Denver, 3" and we all left it behind to head to the sunshine of Arizona to be met by Devin's family and a trip to the Sonora  Desert Museum.

Ever the wigglers, corralling more than any two at a time proved difficult for a still photo, but brothers Derik and Devin found plenty of opportunities to be together.

Holidays with the boys

Following an outrageously wonderful concert on Dec 21, and a scrumptious post event reception, singers were all in celebratory mood for the winter holidays.
Mine took me to Derik's family in Denver where they had a dusting of snow, just enough for NJ and I to have a little snowball fight. Sunshine on the otherwise very dry powder made this possible....but all was gone by noon.
Christmas morning brought great excitement to the boys, and there was relative calm at eh beginning of the gifting process. The biggest surprise for  NJ was a bow and arrow which he  insisted on carrying around inside the house at the ready...just in case.  But he reality of actually hitting a target  proved more illusive  than he'd anticipated. With coaching from Jdoudi - their French exchange student, he gradually got better, much to his delight.  And dad even got to try.
Rama got a few highly treasured gifts as well and even let me help with assemblage, though he is clearly very adept at following picture directions with leggos. And the sillies were let loose when asked to pose for photos.
